Original Futures Finbox 3/4 Inch Side Fin Boxes are for the front side fins of a thruster, quad, 5-fin or 2+1 set-up. 3/4 Inch (1,905 cm) deep.

Futures is proud to make one of the lightest and strongest fin system in the world! Our proven full-base system now features Interwoven Laminate Technology (ILT). These cut outs in the flange create an even stronger bond to the skin of the board by allowing the resin to weave itself between the surfboard and fiberglass skin.

Futures Fins began in a garage in California in 1996.

The Longo brothers had a reputation for tackling challenging aerospace parts and fabricating hydrogen fuel cells for research, but in 1996 they decided to combine their technical know-how with something they loved: surfing. They have always considered building locally extremely important, and now this allows them at Futures to dream up a fin, design it, cut it, and surf it, all in a matter of hours under one roof in Huntington Beach. With this ability, they constantly evolve their designs, creating new feelings and new experiences. Sharing these new innovations with other surfers is what fuels their devotion to progression.

As innovators, they are driven to improve, to never settle. Each wave is an opportunity to develop, to learn, and grow. Surfers have been riding waves for hundreds of years, and it is with deep respect that they continually refine surf equipment with feedback from the elite surfers and shapers in the world. They continue to learn together so that they can in turn equip the beginning surfer to the world champ with the right product and clear information so they can easily dial in their equipment. This is why they spend their resources on tools like The Ride Number and a bunch of in-house engineers instead of relying on the next flashy advertising campaign.

They believe this is why surfers all over the world consider Futures the ultimate source for exceptional performance surf equipment created by surfers for surfers. It is about being authentic, challenging the status quo, and standing for the evolution of their sport. Sometimes it is even about pushing beyond what appears to make sense because they believe that they can’t find their limits unless they try to push past them. That is why they were the first to make a pre-lamination fin box that gets its strength from the fiberglass. Then later, when surfers were testing the limits of waves that were no longer paddle-able, they were the first to develop stiff stable big wave fins. They continue to develop new products like Alpha and tools like Ride Number. These are just the beginning. They would love to tell you more about the next products that are coming, but they can’t. Why don't we sell eco-friendly Finboxes? We want to be transparent.

Futures Fins finboxes are world-leading and appreciated by surfers and shapers everywhere. Why? Their shape and technology make them much more durable and long-lasting than comparable finboxes. Unfortunately, they are not made from sustainable materials.

Nevertheless, we have decided to keep the finboxes in our range for the time being, as they are currently indispensable on the market and we want to offer our customers a wide choice.

What do we have? The ability to produce these Finboxes from sustainable materials. What do we need? A large demand so that we can realize this together with Futures!
