About the product

The Foilboard that can make it all: Freeride, Wave, Freestyle, Race. This is our interpretation of a one board quiver, while being eco-friendly with just a plant and air inside, very stiff, light and durable.

Every KARA Foilboard is custom made in Germany/Munich and feature our unique Agave Hollow Construction with Flax Fiber Stringers. Mininum swing weight through hollow nose and tail, maximum stiffness and a super direct connection to the foil.

After the CNC process every agave beam of the blank is being hollowed out individually conerning to the board configuration of the customer (custom track and strap positions) and then glued together. 4 Flax Fiber Stringers are reinforcing the board through the whole length, maximizing the huge potential of this construction method. The fibers of the agave beams are very stiff in longitudinal direction, which gives the core a very high bending stifness already without the outer laminate. This is why the board is very durable, despite using the most eco friendly, natural and biodegradable core material available.

WHAT IS A VECTOR FOILVector is a proprietary Futures foil featuring a concave surface on the inside of the front fins. Specifically in the Vector, the concave runs from the base to the tip of the fin, increasing water attachment and lift.WHAT IS A 3/23/2 is a complement to the Vector foil, where the top half of the fin has an additional 3 degrees of cant and 2 degrees of toe. There is a noticeable twist to the foil, changing the planing angle in the turn at sharper angles of attack, creating lift and hold further into the turn.PERFORMANCE BENEFITS OF THE VECTOR 3/2The Vector 3/2 is an amplified Speed Generating fin, as a result of maximum water attachment, over multiple planing surfaces, creating lift and reducing drag. Is it necessary to use Epoxy for shaping?

No, there are many ways to waterproof a blank. Instead of using a toxic polyester resin, we recommend using a bio-based epoxy resin. Another option is to vacuum the blank with more waterproof veneers or woods such as Paulownia.

We got the right wax for the different water temperatures: basecoat tropic > 24°C warm 19 — 24°Cwarm-cool 16 — 21°Ccool 14 — 19°C cold 9 — 14°Cice Cold < 9°C APPLYING YOUR SURFBOARD WAX Make sure your board is nice and clean and then apply a thick layer of basecoat. The next layer of surf wax will stick all the better and give you perfect grip. Bali or Klitmøller. Water temperature is key for applying the right surfboard wax. Keep your wax and board out of the sun if possible. You like it sticky? Then use a surf wax in the highest temperature range given on its packet Apply a new layer prior to every surf to get those waxy bumps going. More bumps means more grip! Sei Whale Biobased Epoxy

All-purpose Biobased Epoxy System. Sei Whale is a clear, all-purpose epoxy system with high UV resistance and a choice of hardener speeds to suit your working time. It is good for hand lay-up, coating and filling, among other applications. This is a bio-based epoxy system that helps to reduce the environmental impact of our customers' end products, while maintaining or improving product performance. The R*Concept range of epoxy systems have been developed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by replacing some of the petroleum-based components with bio-based renewable materials. As a concept dedicated to respect for the environment, each epoxy system in the range is named after a species threatened with extinction. Sei Whale epoxy has a low viscosity which makes for easy saturation of fibreglass reinforcements. It also has a wide working temperature range that makes it convenient for many end users. Its high UV stability makes it ideal for applications that require clear, low yellowing finishes. Like most epoxies, this resin has a slight tint, so is not suitable for clear casting. The Sei Whale epoxy system includes the Sei Whale epoxy resin and can be purchased in two different hardener options: slow & fast. Mix Ratio: 2:1 by Volume Fast hardener 100:50 by weight Slow Hardener 100:46 by weight Working temperature range: 10-35°C Slow Cure: 45-55 minute pot life at 25°C. Abranet sets new standards in sanding technology and offers unique, almost dust-free sanding. The Mirka product is the most advanced abrasive available. Mirka was the first to introduce this type of net sandpaper to the market. It is even cheaper than the alternativ products that we have experienced. Because the cool air is sucked through the net, there is much less epoxy burning (the dust does not get hot and therefore does not stick). SR 100 - Half mask

The SR 100 half mask is a silicone air-purifying respirator (APR) available in three sizes: S/M, M/L and L/XL. The mask is equipped with two exhalation valves, which ensure a very low exhalation resistance, and one inhalation valve. Personally, we like the fact that moisture is well filtered out and does not build up so much inside the mask. The valve covers with partitions effectively protect the exhalation membrane from dust and paint mist. The material and pigments of the mask body are FDA and BGA food approved, minimising the risk of contact allergies. The mask's easily adjustable elasticated headgear has a V-shaped loop and a large, curved headband for a comfortable and secure fit.The mask is used either as an APR in combination with filters and/or cartridges from the Sundström range, or in combination with the SR 307 compressed air attachment; this combination is referred to as a type C continuous airflow respirator (SAR).
