About the product

This set of 5 tools will help you shape your board to perfection. The wooden hand planes are crafted with vibrant, grained Macassar ebony bodies and polished brass caps, and feature HSS blades (64 HRC). Their flat, concave, convex, boat-shaped and round designs help you work precisely and meticulously on the rails, nose, rails and stringers of your board. The basic design of the Chinese plane is similar to that of the Japanese Kanna. The main difference is that the Chinese plane can be used for both push and pull strokes, whereas the Japanese Kanna can only be used for pull strokes. The slightly wavy plane bodies are made from Indonesian redwood - the untreated surfaces are worked and polished with scrapers. Blades are made from wear-resistant HSS (approx. 64 HRC) or forged carbon steel (approx. 58 HRC) for special models, making Chinese planes visually attractive and sturdy, versatile tools.
